Isaac Ruto speaks for the first time

The outgoing Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, has spoken for the first time since his defeat to Joyce Laboso in the race for Bomet County boss. Speaking in an interview with Citizen Digital, the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) principal said he was hoping that justice will prevail in the Supreme Court, where NASA has filed a presidential election petition. " There were serious irregularities in the election. It is my hope that Justice will be delivered at the Supreme Court,". Ruto said. Ruto said that the opposition alliance had enough evidence in the petition, adding that numerous election irregularities in the August 8th elections were witnessed. Ruto further said that although there were serious credibility queries surrounding election process in gubernatorial contest in Bomet County, he will hand over power to the incoming governor, Dr. Joyce Laboso, who won on a Jubilee Party. "Let Dr Laboso continue with development activities from where I left and do more for Bomet people in her administration since this is what they are yearning for" he said. "Mr (Wafula) Chebukati, the chairman of IEBC, how did you give Kenyatta victory yet you did not have the full results with you?" he wondered. Mr Ruto said he is still in Nasa. " I am in Nasa today and in future because its agenda match with my agenda for the people of Kenya and we all respect the spirit of devolution," he said. Laboso garbered 176,511 votes (67.19%) to Ruto's of Chama Cha Mashinani 86,189 votes (32.81%). The former Chepalungu Member of Parliament said he is ready to work for Kenyans if he will be nominated by NASA to any political position. There are reports that ODM will withdraw the name of former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary general Willison Sossion and replace him with Isaac Ruto in nomination slot to the National Assembly.
